About the book
Some secrets refuse to stay buried. Thirteen years ago, a girl and her boyfriend disappeared. No bodies. No motives. No closure. No answers. Now, mysterious letters are arriving—and with them, doubt. With every line, trust dissolves into fear, turning those you love into strangers and fond memories into lies. Two detectives begin digging into the mysterious letters, but could there be a connection between what happened thirteen years ago and what is happening now? Someone knows too much about everyone involved. So much so that you have to ask… how well do you really know those closest to you?

Meet the author
Hello, I’m Maria Kelly. Writing as M. H. Kelly. Welcome to my story…
After years of carrying stories in my head, life got busy and the stories stayed silent. Well, some stories refuse to stay quiet. After leaving my career as a realtor, I finally had the time to write. Last year, I began writing Deception Justified and now I get to share it with you.
And of course, none of this would have been possible without my sweet writing companion, Bubba, our 12-year-old Chihuahua rescue. We brought him home in October 2025 and, whether he was keeping my feet warm during early-morning writing sessions or reminding me to take well-deserved breaks, he was right by my side through every single chapter. Sadly, we lost him in August 2026 to heart failure. We were devastated, but I knew I had to finish my book in honor of Bubba. This site and this book are dedicated to my sweet Bubba boy, who is pictured on my lap in the photo.
